Breathe - Jodie Schuster
A bit about me...
My meditation journey began after a traumatic experience in the early 2000s. I quickly become amazed by how much benefit I could gain from simply slowing down and breathing. In 2008 I started to become interested in trauma and its effects upon the body, which lead me to start practicing Japanese martial arts including Niten and Tai Chi. After an injury stopped my martial arts career in 2015, I moved over to practicing gentle forms of movement such as yoga and QiGong.
It was during 2015 that I started to explore Mindfulness in relation to meditation and movement. I was immediately impressed by the simplicity of the techniques and tools I was discovering, and they were quickly incorporated into my daily life. Since then, I have seen a significant improve in my health and well-being.
I live in Sunderland, in an old mining village, where I continue to study for my own personal journey and growth, as well as for my professional training.
