Hello!
My name is Jodie Schuster and I am a fully qualified Mindfulness Meditation teacher based in the North East of England. I have 20+ years of experience in various meditation practices including Mindfulness, Yoga, Japanese Martial Arts, Tai Chi and QiGong. I have benefitted greatly from exploring Mindfulness practices and I am deeply committed to continually developing my skills through everyday practice and Continuous Professional Development.
My Story
My meditation journey began after a traumatic experience in the early 2000s. I found Yoga first and quickly become amazed by how much I benefited from simply slowing down, taking gentle movements and breathing. This led me to explore other meditative avenues such as Martial Arts and Tai Chi. These practices helped to change how I related to my body and progressed my understanding of the mind and body connection, and the importance of breath.

Just before I started university in 2009, I had a lot of anxiety around going to university and fell into a deep depression. I felt compelled to seek out something that would allow me to reduce stress, stop panic attacks and find stability, so I started to practice the simple and powerful meditative movements of QiGong.
In 2016 I started my Masters Degree where I stumbled upon Mindfulness. I was immediately impressed by the simplicity of the techniques and tools I was discovering. These were quickly incorporated into my daily life and I seen a significant improve in my well-being as Mindfulness reduced my stress, worry and anxiety.

Over the years I have carried my Mindfulness practices with me and lead to me completing a Diploma in Mindfulness in 2017. In order to further develop my practice and gain a better understanding of Mindfulness, I enrolled in a course with the Mindfulness Association in 2022. Since then, I have become more open and resilient in my approach to life’s challenges and difficulties. I am continually inspired to undertaken retreats and further training in order to support my own practice and to help others with their practice. I have found that my mental health has improved, and even though it can dip from time to time, I am able to find inner balance by mindfully connecting to the present moment.
